4 Fundamental Skills Every Network Marketer Needs to Master

[et_pb_section admin_label=”section”][et_pb_row admin_label=”row”][et_pb_column type=”4_4″][et_pb_text admin_label=”Text” background_layout=”light” text_orientation=”left” use_border_color=”off” border_color=”#ffffff” border_style=”solid”]

A fundamental is defined as “serving as, or being an essential part of.” Basically, the “building blocks” or “important task” you should focus your attention on to build your network marketing business.

It doesn’t matter what vehicle or technology you use, the psychology and process behind converting people into customers or distributors into your business is the same.  In today’s post I will share the 4 fundamentals every network marketer needs to master to grow your business.

They are (1) Prospecting/Lead Generation, (2) Inviting/Presentation, (3) Follow-up, and (4) Duplication:

Prospecting/Lead Generation

Prospecting and generating leads are the most vital fundamentals in network marketing. If you don’t have leads your business will not survive.  When you’re prospecting your mindset should be that you truly want to help people– detach from the outcome. Prospecting is not about making a sale.  Mastering these skills will increase your likelihood of being successful in this industry.

Inviting/Presentation

Now that you mastered the art of prospecting and lead generation, now its time to invite people to your presentation. Qualify your prospect to determine if there’s a need and/or interest in what you have.  Based on the conversation, you can then present your solution to their problem in the context of the reason they are interested.

With today’s technology, you can send them to a video, webinar or recorded call that explains your opportunity/service or product.

Follow-Up

How often have you heard “the money is in the follow-up”? The best Network Marketers in the industry are great at following up with people. Schedule your follow-up in advance. Get all the information you need from the prospect.  Ensure that they make the commitment to do whatever it is you’re asking them to do.  Also, have them commit verbally to show up or be available for your call at the time you discussed.

Let them know your time is valuable, and if they can’t show up to please reach out to you and reschedule, otherwise you’ll expect them to be there.  You can follow-up via a video call or phone call..  Following up is a very valuable skill to master.

Duplication

At this point you’ve prospected, invited/presented and followed up, however, you still have to ask.  When you use all these new strategies and tactics you should now be closing more people into your business.     Don’t hope that they’ll say “ok I’m ready” They’ve already told you they want to change certain things in their life. They agreed that your solution is something that can help them. The natural conclusion is that they want to join your business or purchase your product. However, you won’t know this until you ask.

They joined your team, now what?

The first thing you need to do is get your new distributor started right away.  Have an enrollment process in place. Create a check list of all the things they need to do the first week to build momentum in their business.

Training a new distributor and getting them started is the most valuable thing you can do. Follow up with them to make sure they understand what they need to do. Create a way for them to have some accountability.  Then teach them how to do the same with their new people as well.

Master these fundamentals if you want to be successful in Network Marketing.  You’re not expected to learn all these things overnight, but if you take the time to educate yourself and  take action every single day, you’ll be amazed at what you can accomplish.

So, what are your thoughts?  What fundamentals do you believe are essential for success in network marketing?  Write your comment below.

Florence Scovel Shinn was writer and teacher.  She’s one of the most recognized new thought and prosperity writers of her time. Although she became a very well known writer, she was always herself…colloquial, informal, friendly and humorous.  If you’ve never heard of her before– you’re in for a treat.

Florence has written many books, but one of my favorites that I refer back to often is “The Game of Life and How to Play It”, in which she explains that life is not a struggle, but a game in which we give and receive—and  whatever we send out into the universe will eventually come back to us.

With a timeless message, her books continue to appeal to readers today.

In today’s post I will share with you 8 Beautiful Quotes to by Florence Scovel Shinn to Fuel Your Day:

The game of life is a game of boomerangs. Our thoughts, deeds, and words return to us sooner or later with astounding accuracy.”

“Every person is a golden link in the chain of your good.”

Distractions causing you to lose focus

Are Distractions Causing You to Lose Focus

[et_pb_section admin_label=”section”][et_pb_row admin_label=”row”][et_pb_column type=”4_4″][et_pb_text admin_label=”Text” background_layout=”light” text_orientation=”left” use_border_color=”off” border_color=”#ffffff” border_style=”solid”]

Do you find yourself mindlessly scrolling through Facebook for hours, or checking your email every ten minutes? Do you answer  your phone and talk to friends when you should be working?

Why are distractions such a big problem? Because they sidetrack your success, they throw you out of your work flow, and cause you to lose focus on your goals and visions. Distractions also drain a lot of your time and energy that could be used on income producing activities.  In today’s post I’ll share with you 3 tips that can keep you on track if you’re prone to distractions:

Shut Down Your Email

How often do you check your e-mail?  Shutting down your e-mail can be difficult.  Not only do you need to shut it down, you need to also STAY out of your email program. When you need to complete a task, the easiest way to stay focused is to shut down your email program, turn off your phone (or mute it) and remove yourself from other technology distractions. You’ll be surprised at how much you’ll get accomplished – and how much more efficiently you’ll perform your work.

Take a Break – Enjoy Some Quiet Time

When all else fails, take a break.  If you’re feeling overwhelmed or scattered, it’s easy to lose your focus.  Take a break, simply walk away from your work.

Contemplate your task for the day.  Breathe, Relax, and Focus. After taking a 10-15 minute break you should feel refreshed and ready to move forward with your task.

Write a List, Check It Twice

This little trick will help you become more productive. When you write a list, you know exactly which task you need to complete in  order of priority. As you finish your task, check them off.  When you have a list you’re more likely to stay on task and actually complete the items on it.

While distractions will still sidetrack you from time to time, these tips should help you stay on track. The more you  practice these ideas, not only will your work day be more productive, but you should be more focused as well.

How to Make Your Prospect Feel Approachable Instantly

How to Make Your Prospect Feel Approachable Instantly

[et_pb_section admin_label=”section”][et_pb_row admin_label=”row”][et_pb_column type=”4_4″][et_pb_text admin_label=”Text” background_layout=”light” text_orientation=”left” use_border_color=”off” border_color=”#ffffff” border_style=”solid”]

Have you ever known a person who seems to make friends instantly? He enters a room and immediately starts talking to a stranger as if he’s known him for years. He calls a prospect for the first time and the prospect carries on with him as if they’re best friends. So, how does he do it?   In today’s post I will share with what he does and how you can also make your prospect feel approachable instantly.

You’ve probably also encountered people who are nice once you get to know them, but are hard to get to know.

So what is this secret that distinguishes the easy-to-know approachable types from the hard-to-get-to-know types who have handicapped themselves from getting along in this world?

How to Turn on the Magic Switch That Turns on Friendly Emotions

The secret is… you have to believe that the other person is going to like you.   You’ve got to assume the attitude you expect the other person to take.  When you take on this attitude, you’re thoroughly convinced that the other person will like you, so you’re not afraid of them.   If you’re not afraid, you’re not on the defensive.

Fear of People Drives Them Away

Fear is one of the greatest handicaps to getting to know people quickly. You’re afraid the person will not like you so you hide in your shell.

Nothing is truer in the field of human relationships than this: If your basic attitude is that people will be unapproachable or they will not like you—your experience will prove it to be so.  If your basic attitude is people will be approachable and will act friendly towards you—again your experience will prove it so.

Take the Chance Your Prospect is Approachable- The Odds are in Your Favor

Don’t always assume that you’ll be snubbed by the other person.  Take the risk.  Bet on him being approachable.  You won’t win every time, but the odds are in your favor.

Most people crave friendship as you do. It’s a universal craving.  The reason the other person may not appear approachable is maybe because he’s afraid of you, afraid that you will reject him.

Relax and Take for Granted That You Will Be Liked

In any human relations situation, it doesn’t pay to be over anxious; to practically let the other person know you’re drooling to get what you want.

When you give the impression that you’re desperate, when you show anxiety; your prospect starts to wonder why you are trying so hard and doubt creeps in.

The trick is not to knock yourself out trying to get the other person to come through.  Just relax, and know that he will be friendly and reasonable. Then you’ll be relaxed, calm and collected when dealing with him.

One Thing You Can Do to Relax Yourself is Smile

It’s almost impossible to be worried and anxious when you’re smiling.  A smile is relaxing.  A smile shows confidence.

A sincere smile works like a “magic switch” that turns on a friendly emotion in the other person instantly.  Even if you prospect online, when you exude sincere, positive energy the other person can feel it.

Learn to smile on the Inside.  Imagine that you feel all smiley inside. It’s your FEELING that gets across to your prospect’s subconscious not your facial expression.

If you want your smile to be a friend-maker, it must come from down deep. Not  from your diaphragm- but from your heart.  A good sincere smile says several things to the other person, it says not only “I like you and I come as a friend”, it also says “I assume that you are going to like me too”.

[/et_pb_text][et_pb_text admin_label=”Text” background_layout=”light” text_orientation=”left” use_border_color=”off” border_color=”#ffffff” border_style=”solid”]

Build Your Network Marketing Business with Quality

Build Your Network Marketing Business with Quality

[et_pb_section admin_label=”section”][et_pb_row admin_label=”row”][et_pb_column type=”4_4″][et_pb_text admin_label=”Text” background_layout=”light” text_orientation=”left” use_border_color=”off” border_color=”#ffffff” border_style=”solid”]

There are two ways to build your network marketing business.  You can build it fast, using any method that works, or you can build it the right way—with quality.

Of course, building it with quality takes longer, but in the end it’s worth it!

Quality is crucial in all areas of your business, because quality lasts.  Often hasty methods last for a little while, but eventually fall through when you least expect it.

Don’t Let your Desire to Grow Rapidly Override Your Common Sense

Most new leaders start out cautiously, they want to build a thriving business, but they’re afraid of making a mistake. They’re often extremely careful about who they bring into their business.

Then as time goes by and they’re more successful, they become comfortable and begin to get lazy about finding quality people.  Your people are your greatest resource. Don’t take the relationship building/prospecting process casually.  It’s one of the most important things you’ll do to build a solid, successful business.

Work with the People Who Deserve It, Not Just the Ones Who Need It

Your job is to get your new people started. Train them right away.

Acknowledge that people come in with different interest, levels of commitment and desire.  Just because they join your business doesn’t mean they’re ready to go to work—

Let them know up front, It’s gonna require a lot of work.  They’re starting their own business and it’s not something that’s gonna make them “rich” overnight.

If they’re successful, it’s gonna be them who creates that success– Not You.

If they fail in this business, they created that failure– Not You.

You’re here to guide them every step of the way, but You can’t do it for them.

Don’t waste your time and energy working with people who don’t meet you half way by not putting forth any effort.

Give Your Efforts Time to Compound

Everyone talks about hard work, consistency and effort, but no one talks about the importance of time in building a business or career.

Many people work hard then give up before they allow enough time for the seeds of their work to bear fruit.  People have a tendency to discount the importance of sticking to one thing for a long period. They get impatient and jump from one company to another.

Always remember that what you’re doing today with pay off in the future—with interest.

Quality in Every Aspect of Your Business is an Important Concept

The only way to build it big is to build it right.  You’ll have fewer disappointments, a stronger business, and you’ll feel better about yourself and others.

Conquer Prospecting Anxiety

3 Ways to Conquer Prospecting Anxiety

[et_pb_section admin_label=”section”][et_pb_row admin_label=”row”][et_pb_column type=”4_4″][et_pb_text admin_label=”Text” background_layout=”light” text_orientation=”left” use_border_color=”off” border_color=”#ffffff” border_style=”solid”]

Do you hate prospecting? So do 95 percent of network marketers. There is a certain amount of anxiety, or stage fright fear that is natural when you prospect.  This type of fear can absolutely stop you cold and keep you from doing the critically important activities you need to build your business.

We all understand that prospecting is absolutely necessary to build any business. So why is it that this basic task becomes so overwhelming? And, how can you overcome your fear and anxiety of prospecting? In today’s post I will share with you 3 Ways to Conquer Prospecting Anxiety:

Become Good at Prospecting; Keep Up Your Personal Development

Starting out with great skills can help build your competence and your confidence, removing any fear of failure, and any shred of doubt that you can succeed for yourself, for your company, and for your client. Personal development is the key to unlocking your confidence and courage to succeed in prospecting. Your prospects will recognize these attributes and skills in you, because you’ll recognize them in yourself

Change What you Say to Yourself When You Hear “No”

In the process of building relationships with prospective clients, realize that you can’t please everybody.  What you’re presenting will feel right for some prospects, but not for others no matter how good your products or service is.

If you’re passionate about what you do and you love your product/services, you have to realize that you’re coming from a place of service and you’re trying to help people. If they tell you “no”, tell yourself “that’s their loss, not yours- they’ve just lost the opportunity to work with you.”

Get Over Your Hang Ups About Rejection and Objections.

What’s the worst thing that can happen?  When people tell you “no”, it’s just a word. Don’t take it personally, they’re not rejecting you. Not everyone will want your product or service.

…Don’t be intimidated.   Speak from the heart.   Connect with people.

If you create a mental fantasy of people responding negatively toward your offer, you will have difficulty prospecting. Don’t fantasize anything about your next prospect. Keep your mind clear, and be ready to respond appropriately in the moment as it happens.

Business will come to you based on your commitment to prospect more than the results of how people respond to you.  Taking action is the most important thing you can do. For every action there is a reaction. If you prospect, good things will happen.

Keep Your Posture

How to Keep Your Posture When Talking to Prospects

[et_pb_section admin_label=”section”][et_pb_row admin_label=”row”][et_pb_column type=”4_4″][et_pb_text admin_label=”Text” background_layout=”light” text_orientation=”left” use_border_color=”off” border_color=”#ffffff” border_style=”solid”]

If you want to get fast results in your business, you need to learn how to keep your posture  when talking to prospects.

Posture is about Attitude

It’s knowing with confidence that you’re the “one” with the gift.  You have the goose that lays the golden egg and as a professional Network Marketer, you’re happy to share this gift with others.

In today’s post I’ll share with you tips on How to Keep Your Posture When Talking with Prospects:

Professionals Sort

To keep your posture, your attitude should be about interviewing your prospects to see if they have the qualities you’re looking for.  Simply put, you, as a professional, sort, you don’t  beg or chase.

Perception is Reality

The interview should be brief. This is vital, because you need to convey the message that you are busy and successful. Spending a lot of time talking and trying to convince a prospect about our products or opportunity sends out exactly the opposite message.

You a Leader; Not a Follower

With the right mentality, you behave as a leader. You don’t allow rude prospects to waste your time. You stay in control of the conversation; and you’re happy to move on from prospects who have no desire to change the quality of their lives.

Respect Your Business

You appreciate that you’re running a multi-million dollar business. Your time is precious. You use it for serving  prospects who want what you have to offer!

Detach from the Outcome

“Some will, some won’t…so what?”

As you get more experience and become better at marketing, your confidence will grow. You’ll be able to become less and less attached to the outcome of your conversations with prospects.

Yes, you’ll always want to prospect with a clear intent and visualize a positive outcome (a sale or sign-up), but at the same time it’s really just “business as usual”.

You’ll get BOTH Yes’s and No’s in this industry – it’s to be expected!

…The irony is that the less you care, the better you’ll do!

This is because your prospect will sense that you’re relaxed and that makes you come across as a leader.  They will sense that it’s really no big deal to you whether they sign up with you or not.

They’ll assume you have lots of people wanting to get in, and this will again make them WANT to work with you! The person who’s successful, who’s has lots of people knocking at their door – that’s the person everyone wants to work with.   It’s human psychology, pure and simple.

Guide Your Prospect To The Next Step

Never give your prospect too many options. This confuses them, and confused people don’t take action.   Ask yourself, “What is the ONE step I want them to take right now that will move them along in the process of becoming a distributor/an affiliate/or placing an order?

Whatever is gonna move them ONE step further in the right direction, that’s where you want to lead them.  Take them by the hand and guide them along. When you do, you’ll project posture because you are LEADING them…and that is what leaders do…they LEAD!

Body Language Signs

Prospecting: 5 Body Language Signs You Need to Know

[et_pb_section admin_label=”section”][et_pb_row admin_label=”row”][et_pb_column type=”4_4″][et_pb_text admin_label=”Text” background_layout=”light” text_orientation=”left” use_border_color=”off” border_color=”#ffffff” border_style=”solid”]

Did you know that communication is only 10% verbal?  Most of what you communicate comes across in the tone of your voice (30%), and your gestures (60%).  Your body language  reveals more about you than you may know.

Your prospect’s behavior provides clues as to how they’re feeling, which in turn lets you know how you should approach them. But body language goes both ways. You must be aware of your own behavior as well to  get the best possible reaction from your audience. Bear this in mind the next time you present your opportunity or service to a potential prospect.

The Eyes Have It

I’m sure you’ve heard this one before, “you can tell a lot by a person’s eyes”.  Eye communication is a great skill to have and eye contact is a great tool to master.

Darting eyes means a person feels insecure. This person is looking for an escape route from talking to you.

Have you ever talked to someone and noticed that his or her eyes were looking everywhere, but at you? This is a sign of boredom and/or distraction, it also means the person is seeking a way to get outta your space.

Defensive, Comfortable, or Just Chilly?

If someone habitually crosses their arms, they prefer to say they’re cold or comfortable rather than to admit that they’re nervous, anxious or defensive.

If your prospect crosses his arms, he’s likely adopting a defensive position towards something you said. Try to re-engage them by shifting the focus back on them and what they want. Get them to participate. Instead of focusing on thoughts, ask them how they feel about what you’ve discussed.

Head Games

Always try to keep your head at a level, steady position. This is implies confidence and sends the signal that people should listen to you. Tilting your head to the side is a sign that you are receptive and ready to listen.

To Cross or Not To Cross

When having a conversation with someone, make sure both feet are on the ground.  Twitchy, restless legs betray nerves and stress

If a person crosses both their legs and arms, this is an indication that he or she is emotionally withdrawn from the conversation.

If they cross their legs at the ankles while sitting down, this can mean they’re afraid, unsure, or holding back.

Seal the Deal

No one likes a cold, clammy hand—it’s a sign of nervousness..  Make sure your hands are warm and dry!  A firm grip on your handshake shows that you’re confident, friendly, and trustworthy.

People in sales are taught to watch for a customer’s exposed palms if they give reasons or objections as to  why they can’t purchase a product or service. If they’re giving a valid reason, they will typically shows their palms. If they’re being open about explaining their reasons, they’ll use their hands and flash their palms; whereas someone who isn’t telling the truth is more likely to give the same verbal response but conceal his hands.

In the end, people like to be liked. If you give every indication that you like the person sitting across from you, they’ll reflect the same thing back at you. And it’s always easier to present to a friendly audience.

You love your product or service.  You’ve listened to the motivating conference calls and the awe-inspiring speakers who encourage you to follow your dreams, now you’re ready to tackle the nuts and bolts of prospecting and marketing  your business.  You’re excited, you’re committed,  you’re ready to rock your Network Marketing business!

To become a Master at prospecting and making sales in your network marketing business, you got to learn some simple techniques for building rapport with your potential prospects.  You need to find out how you can meet their needs, then follow up with them to seal the deal.

…Prospects and leads are the lifeline of your business

As an network marketer, you contribute to the well-being of others. You contribute your life energy, your knowledge, and your services. No matter what your title or profession, anyone who is successful at anything is an effective salesperson.  We sell our talents, abilities, experience, beliefs, and values daily.

You have to treat others, as you would like to be treated. That means you must always see your leads and prospects as being connected to you.

Below, I’ll share with you a simple 3-step process that will turn your prospects into partners, and you into a Sales Producing Maven.

Become the Hunted, not the Hunter

You do this by finding the niche that your product or service caters to, and then pursue that target market.

You need to target  people who want what you have to offer. Market to them to share how you have the solutions to their problems.

As a Network Marketer, you’re looking for people who are entrepreneurial and are open to the industry. Your goal is to attract people who are looking for ways to change their circumstances, and are committed to getting paid what they’re worth.

Look for people who are interested in owning their own business.  The more you focus on people who want what you have, rather than chasing people who have no interest at all, you’ll begin to see your numbers and growth increase.

Build Rapport with your Prospects; Earn their Trust

The key to success in network marketing is building trust with your prospective leads. You’re in the business of impacting lives and building relationships, pursue each opportunity as such.

You’ll lose a prospect’s trust if they feel you’re trying to sell them something for your benefit. People love to buy, but they don’t like to be sold.

Be a good listener.  Be empathetic towards their needs. Let them know you’re there to help. Provide them with the best support that you can give. You may be surprised at the overwhelming leads and referrals you can generate as an outcome of you putting your prospects first.

Follow-Up with Your Prospects

Turn your prospects into partners.   If your prospect shows interest in your service or products, and takes the time to view your 3rd party tool (webinar, brochure, video, etc);  you should follow up with them– send an email, text or call them.

If they choose to join you in your business, teach them the ropes by explaining how the business can benefit them and how they can help others by sharing it with them as well.  Immediately get them plugged in to your team calls and systems, so that they can see the high level of support and resources they have available to build a thriving business.

Always remember, this is a people business, and as Network Marketing trainer Randy Gage has said many times before:

“You don’t grow your network, You grow your people – and they grow your group!”

Are You Ready To Change: How to Reclaim Your Power

[et_pb_section admin_label=”section”][et_pb_row admin_label=”row”][et_pb_column type=”4_4″][et_pb_text admin_label=”Text” background_layout=”light” text_orientation=”left” use_border_color=”off” border_color=”#ffffff” border_style=”solid”]

Are you ready to change?  We’re nine days into the New Year and the topic of discussion continues to be centered around New Year’s resolutions and setting goals.

If you honestly sat down and contemplated what you wanted to change in the coming year, could you seriously say that you’re ready to change; that you’re actually gonna get off your butt and do what it takes to reach your goal(s)?

I’m not talking about working your business for a few week or months then quitting. I’m talking about going all the way in— doing whatever it takes “come hell or high water” to achieve your goal(s).

If you’re like most of us, you’ve made up your mind that this time it’s really gonna happen. So, if you’re so ready to change, why is that some of us give up so easily after a short period of time, while others follow through to completion?

How to Reclaim Your Power

Power is emotional. It doesn’t need an outside source–power is your belief.

Most people want instant results.  If something seems too difficult or takes too long they usually give up.   When you give up, you become powerless because of the stories you tell yourself and the negative past events you hold on to that cause very low vibrational energy.

When you’re building a team. A large percent of them will be powerless. They’ll rely on what you tell them to do. They won’t have the emotional discipline–they’re not self directed. They have to be re-directed and they can drain you if you let them.

You must not give them your power. When you take on someone else’s results you start to give away your power, setting yourself up for disappointment.

When you begin to trust yourself and others without the anxiety about an outcome, you start to live in your power.

Self Worth vs Self Esteem

Our concept of who we are is about the value we place on ourselves. It’s about our sense of self-worth rather than our self-esteem. To reclaim our power we have to change how we feel about ourselves.

Self-esteem tends to be based on something we’ve done, rather than who we are. It’s our outer recognition of some skill or prowess we have.

Self-worth on the other hand is an inside job, without which we’re never truly capable of believing in our abilities, in our very selves. Without a sense of our worth, the esteem of others is hard to receive because we don’t believe we’re actually worthy of anyone’s esteem.

Let Your Light Shine

We’re always creating, we’re always manifesting and our our current crop of reality is based on who we used to believe we were…our new crop will be based on who we now choose to think we are.

Open your eyes. See yourself as the great and magnificent being you truly are and you help all of us. Reclaim the gift you’ve been given to create a wonderful life.

What’s the use of getting a gift if you don’t open it?  Be Open, Be Compassionate.  Share your unique gift with the world. Let your light SHINE.
