4 Fundamental Skills Every Network Marketer Needs to Master

A fundamental is defined as “serving as, or being an essential part of.” Basically, the “building blocks” or “important task” you should focus your attention on to build your network marketing business.

It doesn’t matter what vehicle or technology you use, the psychology and process behind converting people into customers or distributors into your business is the same.  In today’s post I will share the 4 fundamentals every network marketer needs to master to grow your business.

They are (1) Prospecting/Lead Generation, (2) Inviting/Presentation, (3) Follow-up, and (4) Duplication:

Prospecting/Lead Generation

Prospecting and generating leads are the most vital fundamentals in network marketing. If you don’t have leads your business will not survive.  When you’re prospecting your mindset should be that you truly want to help people– detach from the outcome. Prospecting is not about making a sale.  Mastering these skills will increase your likelihood of being successful in this industry.

Inviting/Presentation

Now that you mastered the art of prospecting and lead generation, now its time to invite people to your presentation. Qualify your prospect to determine if there’s a need and/or interest in what you have.  Based on the conversation, you can then present your solution to their problem in the context of the reason they are interested.

With today’s technology, you can send them to a video, webinar or recorded call that explains your opportunity/service or product.

Follow-Up

How often have you heard “the money is in the follow-up”? The best Network Marketers in the industry are great at following up with people. Schedule your follow-up in advance. Get all the information you need from the prospect.  Ensure that they make the commitment to do whatever it is you’re asking them to do.  Also, have them commit verbally to show up or be available for your call at the time you discussed.

Let them know your time is valuable, and if they can’t show up to please reach out to you and reschedule, otherwise you’ll expect them to be there.  You can follow-up via a video call or phone call..  Following up is a very valuable skill to master.

Duplication

At this point you’ve prospected, invited/presented and followed up, however, you still have to ask.  When you use all these new strategies and tactics you should now be closing more people into your business.     Don’t hope that they’ll say “ok I’m ready” They’ve already told you they want to change certain things in their life. They agreed that your solution is something that can help them. The natural conclusion is that they want to join your business or purchase your product. However, you won’t know this until you ask.

They joined your team, now what?

The first thing you need to do is get your new distributor started right away.  Have an enrollment process in place. Create a check list of all the things they need to do the first week to build momentum in their business.

Training a new distributor and getting them started is the most valuable thing you can do. Follow up with them to make sure they understand what they need to do. Create a way for them to have some accountability.  Then teach them how to do the same with their new people as well.

Master these fundamentals if you want to be successful in Network Marketing.  You’re not expected to learn all these things overnight, but if you take the time to educate yourself and  take action every single day, you’ll be amazed at what you can accomplish.

So, what are your thoughts?  What fundamentals do you believe are essential for success in network marketing?  Write your comment below.

4 Keys to Success in Your New Home Business

[et_pb_section admin_label=”section”][et_pb_row admin_label=”row”][et_pb_column type=”4_4″][et_pb_text admin_label=”Text” background_layout=”light” text_orientation=”left” use_border_color=”off” border_color=”#ffffff” border_style=”solid”]

Chances are you’re reading this post because you’re a new home-business entrepreneur who’s feeling frustrated or overwhelmed in your business.

Many of us, including myself have struggled. There were times when I went through periods of self-doubt and confusion. The good news is, if you’re really serious about building a successful home business, these 4 keys can help you stay on track.

Be Committed: When you make a decision to start your new home business, this decision shouldn’t be taken lightly. Giving 100% of your effort is the only way to achieve success in your business. Of course, there will be times when you may doubt your decision, but if you focus on learning everything you can about your profession, develop your mindset, take massive action, be consistent, and surround yourself with like-minded individuals, you’ll be fine.

You gotta Invest in Your Business: If you want to earn a significant income in your home business, it’s important that you understand this– if you want your business to grow at a rapid pace, you gotta be willing to invest in yourself and your business. Free methods are great, but if you’re building your business using only free methods, it may end up costing you in the long run.

Create a success plan: This is not a get rich quick scheme.  Building a long lasting and profitable business takes time and patience. The key to your success is having a daily routine that will keep you on track, and focused on income producing activities. There’s 24 hours in a day– those who utilize their time wisely see the most success. Replace those non-income producing habits with ones that will maximize your profits.

Be realistic: You gotta understand that not every prospect will join you in your business…and this of course, is not a reflection on you or your company.  Your job is to expose the business, its products, compensation plan, and benefits to others and let them decide if it’s a good fit or not. Most of the people you talk to will not partner with you in business.

I’m not gonna sugarcoat it and tell you starting a home business is gonna be easy, because its not. Home Based Businesses are hard work.

And, If you stick with it long enough, it’s inevitable that you’ll hit some bumps in the road. With that being said, you don’t need to wait until things are perfect before you begin trusting that your business will succeed. Don’t wait until you completely understand the compensation plan,or know how to handle every single objection that may come up, or hone all of your technical skills.

Understand that all network marketers start at the bottom, but they do get started. It doesn’t matter where you are or what your skill set  level is… the key is to just get started!

Being Your Own Boss Does Not Require a Huge Risk

Chances are you’re reading this post because you want to Become your Own Boss.  Your corporate job is crushing the life out of you and you want to get out…

You want to work for yourself

You want to break free from the corporate grind

…but you’re afraid because you’ve heard somewhere that 90% of new start-up businesses fail.

You’ve always known that you wanted to become an entrepreneur  because you  always had that  burning desire to do something special, but when you discussed this with your family members and friends, they were frightened too because all they could see are the risks.

It’s only natural to have some concerns, but there really is nothing to be afraid of. You could be the one who proves them wrong.

Becoming an entrepreneur does not involve the level of risk that many people think, and here’s why:

The Timing Couldn’t Be Better

Right now could very well be the best time in history to start a new business. Technology has changed the way we conduct business online.

With all the latest software available, a new business owner has virtually everything he needs to get started right from his computer.

Using the Internet, you have the ability to attract customers like no other time in history. This can be done easily and inexpensively.

Social media sites allow you to have a very broad reach by getting your message out via Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest and others.

These are all free to use to spread the word about your products and services.

There Is No Shortage of Mentors

When a new business fails it is often because the owner becomes discouraged and gives up. It can get lonely at the top and it’s not easy to run a small business. For a lifestyle or solo entrepreneur, it can be difficult at times with no one to bounce ideas around with.

The answer is to find a few mentors who have been through what you’re going through and will be your sounding board. They will get you going in the right direction and keep you focused on the task-at-hand.

Security in Corporate America is Rare These Days

You may not be happy in your corporate job, but you rationalize this by telling yourself that it’s “safe and secure,” but is it really?

These days it is very common for companies to lay off employees. The key to protecting yourself is to start a business so that you have an income stream you can count on. This entails no risk whatsoever because it does not require that you quit your current job. You can do this on the side.

Put Your Fears to Rest

Your fear of taking a risk may be preventing you from starting a business. This fear is keeping you from living the kind of life you dream of and affecting the world in a significant way.

My hope is that the information in this post clearly explains that the risks you fear, are basically not real.

Entrepreneurs are a special breed; if you know you have what it takes, the desire to succeed, and the willingness to go that extra mile, entrepreneurship can lead to an amazing life. You get to set your own schedule, call the shots, and answer to yourself.

Your dream of working for yourself and taking control of your life is available right before you. There is no reason to wait any longer. The time is now for you to act.
