You must stand out from the crowd if you want to survive and succeed online. Once you’re in business selling products and/or services, you now need to get the word out. We all know that having a blog is essential so the next step is figuring out how to create enough traffic to sustain your business and grow. What you need to do is create brand awareness and position yourself so that you stand out in a crowd full of competitors. Social Media Marketing has proven to be a very effective tool for doing this but there are a few key things that can make all the difference in the world as to whether you succeed or not.
If what you want is to be a sought-after commodity, you can separate yourself from the crowd by branding yourself as an expert. Here’s how to do that:
1. Stand Out From The Crowd by Creating a Presence on Social Media
Millions of people every day are using Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Snap Chat, Periscope and YouTube. In building a brand you need to work towards having a presence on every one of these platforms. By having the kind of content that your target audience is craving, you can build a following. Do your research and regularly post content of value for them. Be generous with your insights and ideas. Communicate directly, responding to everyone who makes contact. Facebook is full of groups for every niche imaginable. Join these groups and start contributing to the discussions. Do the same in niche forums so that you become known for your expertise. Building a loyal following takes time but this is essential to long-term success.
2. A Picture Is Worth A Thousand Words
Social Media allows you to engage with your target market to create brand awareness and loyalty. You can do this really well by incorporating fabulous visuals. You can post pictures on all social media platforms but Instagram is uniquely designed to do exactly that. Reach out to everyone to follow you on Instagram to view your latest offerings or creations.
You can also share photos of yourself so that your audience feels connected. You can even form a stronger connection by having a YouTube Channel so that you can post videos. These videos can include you conducting classes or speaking to your audience directly, face-to-face.
Make sure you present a nice picture by paying attention to everything in your background and of course your own appearance! Practice makes perfect, so don’t get discouraged if your first few forays into “show business” fall flat. Just keep practicing until you’re comfortable and then begin posting your videos.
3. Show Your Appreciation
In your quest to stand out from the crowd and in developing your following on social media it’s important to reach out and express your appreciation to your loyal following. You can do this by thanking them for their loyalty. Show an interest in what they’re doing and give them some acknowledgment for their achievements. Encourage others to follow in your footsteps and be generous in your efforts to help people. Treat your followers with respect, kindness and warmth, just as you would like to be treated. This is what it takes to build a loyal following.
By keeping these three simple tips in mind you can create brand awareness, build your following and establish yourself as an expert. But don’t forget to stay on top of your game by continuing to educate yourself to maintain your expertise.
