A fundamental is defined as “serving as, or being an essential part of.” Basically, the “building blocks” or “important task” you should focus your attention on to build your network marketing business.

It doesn’t matter what vehicle or technology you use, the psychology and process behind converting people into customers or distributors into your business is the same.  In today’s post I will share the 4 fundamentals every network marketer needs to master to grow your business.

They are (1) Prospecting/Lead Generation, (2) Inviting/Presentation, (3) Follow-up, and (4) Duplication:

Prospecting/Lead Generation

Prospecting and generating leads are the most vital fundamentals in network marketing. If you don’t have leads your business will not survive.  When you’re prospecting your mindset should be that you truly want to help people– detach from the outcome. Prospecting is not about making a sale.  Mastering these skills will increase your likelihood of being successful in this industry.

Inviting/Presentation

Now that you mastered the art of prospecting and lead generation, now its time to invite people to your presentation. Qualify your prospect to determine if there’s a need and/or interest in what you have.  Based on the conversation, you can then present your solution to their problem in the context of the reason they are interested.

With today’s technology, you can send them to a video, webinar or recorded call that explains your opportunity/service or product.

Follow-Up

How often have you heard “the money is in the follow-up”? The best Network Marketers in the industry are great at following up with people. Schedule your follow-up in advance. Get all the information you need from the prospect.  Ensure that they make the commitment to do whatever it is you’re asking them to do.  Also, have them commit verbally to show up or be available for your call at the time you discussed.

Let them know your time is valuable, and if they can’t show up to please reach out to you and reschedule, otherwise you’ll expect them to be there.  You can follow-up via a video call or phone call..  Following up is a very valuable skill to master.

Duplication

At this point you’ve prospected, invited/presented and followed up, however, you still have to ask.  When you use all these new strategies and tactics you should now be closing more people into your business.     Don’t hope that they’ll say “ok I’m ready” They’ve already told you they want to change certain things in their life. They agreed that your solution is something that can help them. The natural conclusion is that they want to join your business or purchase your product. However, you won’t know this until you ask.

They joined your team, now what?

The first thing you need to do is get your new distributor started right away.  Have an enrollment process in place. Create a check list of all the things they need to do the first week to build momentum in their business.

Training a new distributor and getting them started is the most valuable thing you can do. Follow up with them to make sure they understand what they need to do. Create a way for them to have some accountability.  Then teach them how to do the same with their new people as well.

Master these fundamentals if you want to be successful in Network Marketing.  You’re not expected to learn all these things overnight, but if you take the time to educate yourself and  take action every single day, you’ll be amazed at what you can accomplish.
